In 1990 JT Money and Debonaire released their first album as a group, 2 Low Life Muthas. After this Debonaire left Poison Clan to join another group, Home Team, with his brother, Drugzie also from the Poison Clan. Hailing from Miami and put on by Luke, the Poison Clan (JT Money and Debonaire) bring the goods on this overlooked gem from 1990. Produced entirely by Mr. Mixxx (of 2 Live Crew), the aptly-titled 2 Low Life Muthas is full of humorous debauchery, with comically hardcore verses similar to early Geto Boys material. Great lowbrow hip-hop from Dirty South pioneers. Originally, Poison Clan was a duo featuring Debonaire and J.T. Money as featured on 2 Low Life Muthas (1990). The two Miami rappers had impressed Luke enough for him to sign them to his then-fledging label, Luke Records, and have Mr. Mixx, 2 Live Crew's DJ, produce the album. 2 Low Life Muthas became a modest sensation in the South with its blend of dirty rap, gangsta rap, and Miami bass.
